What’s meditation for?

Meditation is a set of practices designed to help you relax, release stress and develop yourself. Most techniques use an “anchor” which you rest your awareness on. It takes you away from everyday thoughts to a place of stillness.

Vedic Meditation

The Vedic Meditation technique comes from a tradition dating back thousands of years ago in India. You sit comfortably with your eyes closed for 20 minutes and effortlessly repeat a mantra, which is a word or sound with no meaning that you repeat silently in your head.

Why Vedic?

Unlike other anchors, the mantra speaks the same language as our thoughts. “I’ve tried several other techniques,” says Rory, “including mindfulness-based breathing and body-scan techniques and have found mantra to be the easiest. For many of us, hearing is something we already associate with relaxation and the mantra uses the same vibrational language as music, which resonates with many of us.”

"I've just completed Rory's meditation course after experiencing burnout. The Vedic style of meditation has been fantastic for me (compared to the more mindful style I've dabbled with in the past). I feel like I'm back to my best and I'm looking forward to the long-term benefits meditation will bring. Rory is an excellent teacher" ★★★★★
